Michael McDonald has been a fixture in American pop music for over three decades as a solo artist as well as a member of both Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers. His distinctive, instantly recognizable voice became the focal point of the Doobie Brothers as they recorded many hit songs such as “Takin’ it to the Streets,” “Minute by Minute,” and, unforgettably, the Number One single “What a Fool Believes,” which won the 1980 Grammy for Song of the Year.
