There truly is no place like home as the greatest family musical of all time, the wonderful Wizard Of Oz, twists its way into Wilkes-Barre!

The entire family will be captivated as they travel down the Yellow Brick Road and beyond with Dorothy, Toto and their friends the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man and Scarecrow in this lavish production, featuring breathtaking special effects, dazzling choreography and classic songs.

A spectacular celebration of the iconic 1939 MGM film, The Wizard Of Oz will blow you away from the moment the tornado touches down and transports you to a dazzling art deco Oz, complete with munchkins and flying monkeys. Do You Think You Can Sing Like Dorothy? Let Us Be The Judge! Enter WBRE’s Sing Like Dorothy Contest and Audition Live on Stage at The FM Kirby Center! The Best Dorothy renditions will win Big! Prizes including dinner for 4 at Café Toscana and tickets to hot new shows at The Kirby like Wizard of Oz on November 20th & 21st. Rules & Regulations Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. Registration: Noon – 12:30pm 12:30-2pm: Live On Stage Auditions in Theater Auditions will take place from 12:30 to 2pm. The judges will accommodate as many people as possible within that time frame. Each Contestant is required to Sing a Verse from “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” acappella. No Contestant is allowed to play an instrument or have accompaniment of any kind including recorded music and musical instruments. Please no live Totos! Unfortunately, there are no live animals allowed. Contestants will be given a numerical score from 0 to 10 by three judges. The contestant with the highest scores wins the Grand Prize. The contestant with the second highest score wins the Runner-Up Prize. Rules & Regulations Grand Prize: Dinner for 4 at Café Toscana, 4 Tickets to See Wizard of Oz on November 21st and a Bonus 2 Tickets to Michael McDonald Christmas and Greatest Hits Show on December 18th! Runner-Up Prize: 4 Tickets to Wizard of Oz. Prize is not transferable for cash. No substitution, transfer or assignment of prizes allowed.
