Live from the Chandelier Lobby
Kingston’s own SUZE will bring their blend of funk/blues/jazz/rock to the F.M. Kirby Center on Friday May 12 at 8:00 p.m. ‘A Decade of SUZE’ will be a celebration of the band’s 10th Anniversary and will be part of the Live from the Chandelier Lobby series presented by City Market & Café.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 the day of the show and are available online at kirbycenter.org, at the Kirby Center Box Office or by phone at (570) 826-1100.
Founded in the summer of 2007, SUZE has spent years crafting a sound that blends the fluidity of jazz, with the contagious rhythms of funk and the power of vintage blues rock and roll. The result is a musical entity unique to itself. Though the lineup has changed over time, the core of founding-member Adam McKinley and tenured guitarist Adam Gabriel has continued to drive the outfit forward and nurture its growth.
The addition of rhythm-section members Jason Stefanski and Brian Gildea has breathed new life into the music, both old and new. The band carries two studio records under its belt with 2012's 'When the World is Not Enough' and 2014's 'Sounds From Thursday Evening', both recorded and produced at McCrindle Building Recording Studios with producer/engineer Jody Busch Sr.
Over SUZE's lifespan, they have been fortunate enough to share the stage with such acts as Rusted Root and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, among others. They have also been nominated for a few awards by the Steamtown Music Awards and were voted 2015's 'Best Original Band' in Wilkes-Barre by readers of local entertainment newspaper Diamond City.
